Create a Dial-up connection with Windows XP

Before creating your Internet connection, verify that your modem is correctly installed and linked to the phone jack.

Setup:

Click on Start, then on Control Panel.

In the Control Panel window, go in Network Connections.

Now click on Create a new connection.

A new window appears, click Next.

Click on the Connect to the Internet button and click Next.

Click on Set up my connection manually and click Next.

Click on Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.

Type Altima.Net Internet as ISP Name and click Next.

Type 5143808207 or any other connection number given to you by one of our staff members. Make sure the area code is typed and click Next.

You are now asked to type your username and password. Also, check the desired options and click Next.

Check the Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop and click Finish.

The Connect Altima.Net Internet window appears. Now, click on Properties.

Make sure that the Use dialing rules checkbox is unchecked and click on the Networking tab.

In the Networking tab, click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then on Properties.

Click on Use the following DNS server addresses. Now enter 66.199.144.9 as Preferred DNS server and 66.199.144.6 as Alternate DNS server.

You may now connect to the Internet. Click on Dial to do so.
